Dimensioning the system
Dimensioning of the solar thermal energy system depends on several factors, among them: geographic location, number of solar hours, orientation of the panels in relation to south and not least your own energy demand.
You can calculate your energy and dimension of the application by using our energy calculator:
Housing / Homes:
Start with your heated living surface. The number of m2 with solar thermal panels should be 10-15% of this area.
Eg. - You have a dwelling of 200 m2, so the size of the collector should be between 20 and 30 m2.
The heat store should be dimensioned so that it allow 50-100 liters of accumulation volume per m2 of solar thermal panels. In this case, between 1000 and 3000 liters
Drain tank should be dimensioned so that it allow 3.5 liter with circulation volume per m2 of thermal solar panels. In this case, between 70 and 105 liters.
