How does solar thermal energy work

When the sun radiates energy, the panels receives this energy and transforms the energy into heat. The panels will quickly get a temperature that is significantly higher than the temperature in the heat store where the water is circulated from. We have in cooperation with German RESOL developed a special controller to ensure that the refrigerant (water) circulates as soon as there is energy to receive from the panels.

Dimensioning the system

Dimensioning of the solar thermal energy system depends on several factors, among them: geographic location, number of solar hours, orientation of the panels in relation to south and not least your own energy demand.

System efficiency

We have developed sophisticated models to calculate the efficiency of your solar thermal systems. We can estimate:

  • How much heat and energy you will have at your disposal for different periodes of the year
  • The amount of energy produced per day during the year
  • The average temperature in the heat store
  • The maximum temperature in the heat store

Solar cooling

Our technology makes it possible to use hot water to produce cold by using absorption chiller technology. The technique allows utilization of surplus heat in the summer to produce refrigeration for air conditioning or cooling using water bplants.
Use of solar heat to generate cooling functionality opens completely new opportunities and more efficient utilization of solar energy.
The sun's influence on a building is almost identical to the cooling demand that is created and therefore it is nearly optimal to use solar energy to help cool with.
